Sudbury Symphony Orchestra opens its 43rd season Sept. 29 with a concert entitled Classical Vienna: Mozart and Haydn.
Under the direction of Mélanie Léonard, the full classical orchestra, which includes more than 30 volunteer and professional musicians from the Greater Sudbury region and beyond, will perform Mozart’s Overture to the Marriage of Figaro and Symphony No. 35 “Haffner” and Haydn’s Symphony No. 104 “London”.
Making his stage debut as a soloist with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, Emerson Berglund, co-winner of the 2016-17 Young Performer’s Competition, will perform the first movement of Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 4.
The concert takes place starting at 7:30 p.m. at Laurentian University's Fraser Auditorium.
