St. Charles College students join Foreigner on stage tonight

Students earn spot through radio competition

The 25 vocal students from St. Charles College are too young to remember Foreigner in their prime, but that won't stop them from getting up on stage with them tonight at the Sudbury Arena.

The group earned the spot on stage with Foreigner through a contest put on by a local radio station. As the winners, they will join Foreigner in singing “I Want to Know What Love Is.”

“The students are excited, honoured and humbled,” said Patrica Demore, arts department program leader. “What a great experience to have in high school, to be able to say 'I sang backup to Foreigner.'”

The choir has been practising for about three weeks now in preparation for the big night, Demore said. The group is made up of students from grades 9 to 12.

Foreigner brings its Cold As Ice tour to the Sudbury Arena on March 7. You'll hear some of their best tunes, including “Urgent,” “Hot Blooded,” “Juke Box Hero” and more.

Tickets are available at greatersudbury.ca/tickets, or phone 705-671-3000.
