In a bid to bring in some money for the organization, STC's very own general manager, Scott Florence, takes the stage March 27.

The fundraising show, entitled Scott Florence: The Show I Never Gave, is “a ridiculous exploration of the boundaries between performer, performance, and audience,” said a press release.

“The show is difficult to describe without spoilers, suffice to say this thought-provoking show will engage and entertain the audience like never before,” said Florence. “We're not sure what it is, it would be best to say that it isn't.”

In his administrative role, Florence is a new arrival to Sudbury, but he has a long background in art and performance.

“Sudbury doesn't really know the extensive comedy and clown experience he has - our staff certainly do and we are glad for you to take him off our hands for a night,” said Caleb Marshall, STC artistic executive director.

Previously Florence was artistic director of Ottawa’s premiere Shakespeare troupe, A Company of Fools, the artistic managing director of the Ottawa Lumière Festival, a co-curator of the .isme: Cabaret, general manager of the Canadian Improv Games, and an associate professor with Algonquin College.

His work as an actor, director, and clown has taken him as far north as Yellowknife, as far south as St. Pete’s, Florida, as far west as Victoria and as far east as Nanjing, China.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. March 27.

Tickets are $50 and go towards supporting STC. To purchase tickets and for more information, visit the theatre's website.
