Just when you were wondering how many dozen donuts or magazine subscriptions your group would have to sell to reach your fundraising goal, the Sudbury Theatre Centre as a solution for your organization.

STC is ready to help groups raise from $500 to $800 chocolate-free dollars.

The theatre has put aside nearly 400 tickets for the 2014/2015 season to help not-for-profit groups in the Sudbury region achieve their financial targets.

This unique idea alleviates the stress of fundraising for up to 16 organizations and teams.

Each fundraising group, team or organization is supplied with 28 Sudbury Theatre Centre tickets, with the profits from the sale of those tickets amounting to between $500 and $800 for the group.

Cost to the organization is $10 per ticket (plus HST). By re-selling the tickets from $35 to $40 (or more) per ticket, the organization can raise substantial funds.

The shows up for grabs by the community include the riveting "Another Home Invasion," the family show of "Dorothy Returns to Oz," a Canadian story "Mourning Dove," the show "Red" about the artist Mark Rothko, and Italian story "In Piazza San Domenico." Also offered, a Young(ish) Company show "Danny, King of the Basement."

This fundraising initiative is available immediately to all not-for-profit groups including summer sporting teams, winter teams, school and church groups, cubs and brownies, community charity groups, etc.

Potential participants are invited to visit the STC website, www.sudburytheatre.ca, to download an application form or telephone the STC box office at 705-674-8381 ext. 21 for more information.

Packages are available at STC, located at 170 Shaughnessy St. Fundraising spaces are limited.
