searched for soccer information and details on student loans.
Young people were searching for information about World Cup
soccer, said Oliver Ho, pop-culture specialist and editor of
the Buzz Index for Yahoo! Canada.
Popular search topics were World Cup soccer, CTV's Canadian
Idol and information about short hair styles.
Iced tea recipes were one of July's breakout subjects.
The top Canada Day searches showed Canadians were more
concerned with pension plans than fireworks.
Inquiries about student loans proved money was on the minds of university students all summer long, and as frosh week kicked off, the search for funds (OSAP) grew 50 percent.
