Sudbury native set to hob-nob at NXNE

A Sudbury native who is a member of the Ottawa electro-rock band Fevers said she has high hopes for the group's upcoming participation in the June 13-22 North by North East (NXNE) Festival in Toronto.

The festival is basically “a big industry party” attended by music label reps, agents and successful musicians, said Sarah Bradley.

“It's all about being at the right party,” Bradley said, adding that she's hoping to make contacts and network with music industry insiders.

The 22-year-old École secondaire Macdonald-Cartier graduate, who plays keyboard and sings with Fevers, moved to Ottawa five years ago to attend Carleton University's psychology program.

Eventually deciding she wanted to commit her life to music, she dropped out of university, joining Fevers three years ago. Bradley said she's going back to Carleton in the fall to study music.

Along with fellow band member Colin McDougall, Bradley has become a songwriting force for Fevers.

The band's debut album, "No Room for Light," was released last summer. Fevers has already seen some commercial success, with their music being used on a Joe Fresh commercial, on MTV and NHL Top Plays.
