Sudbury Studio Singers present their spring concert April 14.

The ensemble will present nature-related music for chamber choir, including the cycle Songs of Nature by Dvorak. Other works from Hungary, Canada, Italy, and the United States will round out the program. 

Saskatchewan contralto Lisa Hornung is the the special guest artist. Honoured as one of the “University of Saskatchewan’s Arts and Science Alumni of Influence” as well as receiving the “Saskatchewan Music Educators Association's Outstanding Achievement Award,” she has established a reputation across the country for her expressive and inspirational singing. 

Hornung's program segment will include several folk songs, a genre that she focused on during studies in the United States and Europe. 

The 20 voices of Sudbury Studio Singers, under the direction of Robert Hall, are completing their second season and in that short time have achieved a reputation for their lyrical and dynamic singing.

The concert takes place starting at 4 p.m. at St. Andrew's Place in downtown Sudbury.

Advance tickets are available at Grove’s-YIG and Jett Landry Music. Tickets cost $20 for general admission or $15 for students and seniors.
