Sudbury teen vying for Miss Teenage Canada title

A Nickel City teenager might just be the next Miss Teenage Canada.

Sixteen-year-old Julia Greenough, a Grade 11 honor roll student at Marymount Academy, is in Toronto on Saturday competing for the title. She earned the honour back in May, when she won the Miss North Ontario Regional Canada crown at a pageant in Sudbury.

The daughter of Scott and Katie Greenough, Julia is a competitive dancer, who has gone head to head (or foot to foot) at dance competitions across Canada and the United States.

Praising Julia's poise and talent, Cheryl Kozera of the Miss North Ontario pageant, pointed out northern contenstants have brought home both the Best Talent Award and earned Top 5 placement in the last two consecutive years of the Miss Teenage Canada event.

Julia is a student sister at her school, helping younger students get acclimated to entering high school. She recently hosted a fundraiser for Free The Children, the official charity of Miss Teenage Canada.

While vowing to continue working with Free The Children, Julia also believes it is important to raise awareness for the significance of organ donation.
