Summer is imminent, and that means there's lots of fun outdoor events ahead.

That includes the ninth annual Rock the Farm concert series at Anderson Farm Museum in Lively.

Every Wednesday during July and August, people are invited to bring their lawn chairs and blankets to the farm, and enjoy a free concert by local performers starting at 6 p.m.

Local vendors are on hand at the farm starting at 4 p.m., selling farmer's market produce, hot food and crafts.

This year's lineup features seven bands that have never been featured at Rock the Farm.

“It's exciting, because the music is very eclectic,” said organizer Gwen Doyle.

“We've got new and classic rock and roll, blues, funk revival, country, fiddle, francophone, Irish music and three youth bands.

“I think it'll be really exciting, this combination of familiar faces that have been at the farm before and the new bands.”

Here's the lineup:

July 5 – The Committed (6-8 p.m.)
July 12 – Pop Machine (6-7 p.m.) and The Tremonics (7-8 p.m.)
July 19 – Stephanie Fyfe (6-7 p.m.) and Tom Fyfe and the Whiskey River Blues Band (7-8 p.m.)
