Continuing an annual tradition since 1949, the 58th Annual CTV Lions Children's Christmas Telethon will air at a brand new time, Saturday, Dec. 2 at 2 pm. on CTV.

This year, telethon organizers have opted to start and end the show early, with homegrown entertainment wrapping up at 11 pm just before the CTV National News. Once again this year, hundreds of eager hopefuls auditioned for one of the coveted spots on the popular show.

Telethon producer Dan Maslakewycz says the objective is to present a true family show with something for everyone.

"It's become one of the most anticipated nights of the year," said Maslakewycz. "For many, it's a night to gather with family to decorate the tree, enjoy the entertainment and capture the true spirit of the season through the gift of sharing."

Organizers are once again calling on the community for its support. The celebration begins at 2 pm and continues until 11 pm. Call in a pledge and make sure Santa visits every northern child this holiday season.
