Flowers aren’t the only things springing into view this time of year.
Sudbury Burlesque is back with their latest spectacle of a show: A Tease Through Time. This time, it’s all about time. Get ready to travel back and forth in the weirdest and fluffiest time machine Sudbury has ever seen.
After their sold-out run at The Grand Theatre for Monster’s Ball 6 and a sold-out 10-show engagement at the Sudbury Theatre Centre with Va-Va Valentine, Sudbury’s premiere burlesque troupe is ready to get nostalgic.
“Time Travel is such a great theme for this show,” said Jess Crowe, artistic director of Sudbury Burlesque.
“We can go all the way back to the periods that inspired burlesque and to the times that inspired us as artists. We are so excited to show our audience all of the beautiful, funny, and sexy numbers we’ve got in store for them.”
In A Tease Through Time, a troupe of local performers is on the hunt for the most scandalous moments in human history. Time travellers can expect to see pirates, robots, greek goddesses, aliens, 80s rockers, cave women and more.
This wild and goofy ride full of twists and turns, steamy performances, and sensuous surprises will feature a cast of local and travelling performers adorned in sparkling costumes with a healthy dose of humour and mischief. From ancient times to classic pop culture eras, you won’t want to miss a minute of the crew’s journey.
On top of the spectacular stage show, guests can expect to mingle with on-site vendors and are even encouraged to join in the fun by coming dressed up for the occasion with a prize being awarded each night for the best costume.
A Tease Through Time is presented May 4, 5 and 6 at The Grand Theatre at 28 Elgin Street. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show beginning at 8 p.m.
