Science North and Innovation150 want to engage and inspire visitors as The Power of Ideas Tour comes to Sudbury.

The Power of Ideas is a travelling exhibition from the Perimeter Institute as part of Innovation150 activities with hands-on, mind-expanding activities.

Hundreds of youth and their families will explore the cosmic speed limit, the mysteries of dark matter, black holes – and even more importantly, the power of ideas, big and small.

Delving into two of the world’s largest science experiments to exploring changing ideas about the universe, this immersive experience fosters new curiosities and a better understanding of how we understand the world.

“We are very excited to host The Power of Ideas Tour at Science North and to partner with the Perimeter Institute and Innovation150,” said Julie Moskalyk, Science North science director, in a press release.

“This exhibition demonstrates how all Canadians can become leaders in innovation and science in a hands-on and engaging way. The exhibit is a perfect fit with our mission and the experiences that Science North brings to Northern Ontario and we couldn’t be more thrilled be the host venue for their visit to Sudbury.”

The exhibition will be in Science North’s Vale Cavern from July 24 to 26, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., and is included with general admission.

The Power of Ideas Tour will continue to travel to approximately 60 communities across Canada throughout 2017, stopping in every province and territory, including the Far North.

Innovation150 is a Canada 150 Signature Initiative, funded in part by the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage.
