Video: Pow-wow brings more than 1,000 students together in celebration

Students took part in drumming, dancing and regalia workshops

More than 1,000 students from all four school boards in Greater Sudbury took part in a traditional pow-wow and Aboriginal teachings at École secondaire du Sacré-Cœur on June 10.

In celebration of National Aboriginal Day, which is June 21, students participated in workshops on drumming, dancing, regalia, as well as water and fire teachings.

National Aboriginal Day is an occasion for all Canadians to celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in Canada.
