Picture yourself walking along a trail and taking in the beauty
nature has to offer. From the different trees to the sound of
birds and a nearby stream, you ask yourself, what could be
better than this? You truly feel at peace and appreciate a
break from the fast-paced world in which we live.
Heading out on a trail can be a wonderful experience. It can
be a time for reflection and can help you cope with stress.
Walking is an ideal activity for people of all ages. You
can even bring the family dog along.
The Rainbow Routes Association highlights 31 trails found
throughout the City of Greater Sudbury in its new trail map.
Whether you are looking for an easy, moderate or more
challenging trail to walk on, you are sure to find one that
meets your needs.
Since you will be using different muscles when walking, it
is important to always check with a health care professional
before starting any new physical activity.
Heart Health and Rainbow Routes encourage you to check out a
trail near you this summer. Sudbury is home to many beautiful
trails just waiting to be explored.
The Sudbury Heart Health Coalition works with community partners to promote a healthy active lifestyle. For more information, visit the Rainbow Routes website at www.rainbowroutes.com or phone the Sudbury & District Health Unit at 522-9200, ext. 491 for walking resources.
