New Sudbury Days is looking for local entertainers and volunteers for its third annual free family festival, coming up on Aug. 26 and 27. The festival is also looking for expressions of interest from local non-profit groups and sponsors who may also be interested in being part of the festival.
Activities and musical performances will be held at the main venue at the New Sudbury Shopping Centre and at local neighbourhood venues in New Sudbury.
Activities will include a pancake breakfast, BBQs at various venues, an outdoor movie night, musical entertainment, a car show, a Mascot Beauty Contest, children’s activities, golf, community displays and fireworks.
Volunteers:
Volunteer opportunities include helping to set up and tear down the venue at the New Sudbury Shopping Center, as well as helping with the Green Team, children’s activities and flyers/posters distributions. To volunteer, email [email protected]
Entertainers:
Opportunities to play at various venues are still available. Sound equipment will be provided at the New Sudbury Shopping Centre, as well as a professional sound technician. Musicians may be required to play with limited or no sound equipment at our smaller, more intimate venues at our other locations.
Priority will be given to entertainers who meet the following objectives:
- Entertainment is appropriate for family audiences
- Performances present minimal logistical requirements ensuring that our event can remain a free event for the community
- Entertainers are representative of the diversity and culture of New Sudbury
- Performing entertainers or groups will receive a small honorarium as compensation.
