What's a 'Fagroongala' and why should you care?

A group of musicians with a taste for the Irish want to share their love of the Celtic sound with all of you — and they've given themselves a rather unique name so you know what to call them.

A group of musicians with a taste for the Irish want to share their love of the Celtic sound with all of you — and they've given themselves a rather unique name so you know what to call them.

Fagroongala is made up of Pat McGuire (guitar), Jane Russell (viola, violin), Danika Mercier (percussion), Brittany Goldsborough (bass) and Duncan Cameron (violin, mandolin, bouzouki, whistle).

You can check out shows by Fagroongala at Salute (2195 Armstrong St.) at 6 p.m. July 29 and 7 p.m. July 30.

“Each night will be different, so feel free to come out both nights,” said Russell, in an email.
