Win tix: Bloom 2019 bringing musical world party to Sudbury

Sudbury.com is giving away a pair of tickets to the headlining show featuring Bombino, Shad and Battle of Santiago

Bloom 2019 will bring an exciting blend of music styles from around the world to Sudbury's downtown March 8-10.

Want to get into the city's newest multi-venue music festival? Well, here's your chance!

Sudbury.com is giving away a pair of tickets to Friday's headlining show featuring BombinoShad and Battle of Santiago

Simply tell who you'd bring with you to the show by tagging them in the comments below or on the post pinned the top of our Facebook page.

One winner will be selected at random and announced in the comments on March 4.

West African guitar hero Bombino is the first Nigerien artist to be Grammy nominated. The rest of the world has largely written off his home as a hot and savage wasteland, a bolt hole for religious extremists and terrorists. But Bombino would like us to take a closer look and think again.

Shad is a Juno-nominated hip-hop artist. His family settled in London, Ontario after fleeing the Rwandan genocide. He came up like a lot of first generation Canadian kids, with this cultural duality and the sense that this good country had some baggage that he’d have to unpack someday.

Toronto-based group Battle of Santiago combines classic Afro-Cuban rhythms and vocals with a distinctly Canadian post-rock spirit and sensibility.

Bloom 2019 is organized by the team that presents the annual Northern Lights Festival Boréal.
