Lil’Tenda, left, stands with collaborator, Le0. The two have a new album out Sept. 30, 'With Regards'.

Le0 and Lil’ Tenda have always been pulled towards music, from a very young age. But for both, it really clicked when the two came together. They put together some beats, and the friends who heard their solo work insisted the two collaborate.

That track was Deathwalk, released in 2021, with a follow-up single, Moving Great, released on Jan. 29. You may remember that from Sudbury.com’s coverage of it’s release, found here

Now, the two are releasing their biggest collaboration yet. Dropping Sept. 30 is With Regards, with Afro sounds and Afro beats mixing with their hometown Sudbury, and creating what they say is their best work yet.

Beats come first in the creation process, Le0 told Sudbury.com, and then each separate to write their own lyrics based on a discussion about what the beats mean to them, remind them of, or evoke.

This makes each addition to the album unique.

“We don't just have the one sound like our album,” he said. “You might enjoy songs that are more like a beat, then you have songs that are slower, you have different tracks on a spectrum. It's an album that can be played by, you know, anyone with any different tastes in music.”

The album was also locally recorded and produced by Eric Petitclerc, who goes by Koncept

Both artists said it was a great chance to experiment with their sound, try nes things and produce exactly what they were looking for.

In fact, it could be exactly what you’re looking for, according to Lil’ Tenda.

“I can almost promise you that it has something for you,” he told Sudbury.com. “No matter what you listen to, you're gonna feel the music, and you're gonna feel the authenticity of it. It’ll hit you at a deeper level.”

And though the two will be hitting their solo work as soon as this album is released, they know that there is more to create between the two of them.

You can find more from Lil’Tenda on Spotify, and Apple Music, and Le0 as well, on Spotify here and Apple here.
