Production and DJ masters Fresh Kils and Vekked are taking their unmatched skills on the road this summer, sporting an incendiary live show, in-depth workshops, and smiles galore.

The pair will be performing this Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Fromagerie on Elgin.

"From the incredible pad work and mashups of Fresh Kils, to the groundbreaking fader flexing of the 2015 DMC World Champion Vekked, these guys are much more than just DJs," said a news release for the show. "They are the best in their craft, mashing up all types of samples and beats in real time."

Vekked is an internationally acclaimed five-time World Champion DJ and producer who fuses new school technology with true school DJ skills. He consistently adds to his creative repertoire and pushes the boundaries of technicality and musicality with his sets and productions.

From behind the boards to the stage, there's not a spot of ground Fresh Kils' prolific career hasn't touched. And its not just hip-hop.

The likes of rappers like Saigon, Fabolous and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (ATCQ) grace his resume, but you'll also find the likes of Ron Sexsmith and The Buena Vista Social Club

His prowess on the MPC sampler has seen him share the stage with many hip-hop legends, including Nas and De La Soul, as well as the best of the underground, winning over fans, and beat battle competitions, with his signature showmanship.

“Put these two on stage together and it’s just amazing,” says organizer and performer Michael O’Brien. “They improvise, interact with the audience - it’s a real hip-hop party.”

O’Brien also notes with Sudbury’s Fromagerie Elgin as the venue, the show will have a raw, intimate vibe.

Also performing will be O’Brien himself (a.k.a Mickey O’Brien) who will be bringing a set of all-new material based on working-class life in Northern Ontario.

O’Brien is also the mind behind Sudbury hip-hop project Kill the Autocrat, and a founding member of Sudbury hip-hop trailblazers True Theories, who were originally active in the early 2000s.

Party-goers might even witness a True Theories reunion, as co-founder and musician/ producer/rapper Knawledge makes a long-awaited return to Sudbury.

This will be the first time the two perform on the same bill in over a decade. The event is this Saturday, Aug. 19 at Sudbury’s Fromagerie Elgin (5 Cedar St.)

Tickets are $10, available at the door only. The event is 19+. Doors open at 10 p.m.

More information can be found on the event's Facebook page.
