Sudbury Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is excited to announce the Fill the Score fundraising campaign.
The Sudbury Symphony Orchestra will present the world premiere of Andrzej Zubek’s Zubi-Rag — to be performed by the SSO’s String Quartet. However, the score will only be complete as bars are purchased.
A donation of $20 will reveal a bar and help to ensure further SSO programming and education initiatives. As a bar of music is purchased, it will appear with all the notes filled in, and with the name of the purchaser attached.
To donate, visit SSO’s website.
The composition, Zubi-Rag, written in 2020 by Andrzej Zubek, has been given to the SSO for the Fill the Score campaign.
The Polish composer, Zubek, is the father of the SSO’s principal cellist Dobrochna Zubek.
The Sudbury Symphony String Quartet would like to perform this piece as a special encore at the end of their next concert. It will be a world premiere presentation right here in Sudbury.
The SSO has missed making live music for its audience, said a press release. However, they are working to return to music-making in the near future and are inviting you to help make it happen.
They hope to present a ragtime-inspired concert June 19, depending on COVID-19 restrictions.
“Sudbury Symphony Orchestra is grateful for your support and is looking forward to sharing this beautiful premiere performance of Zubi-Rag,” said the press release.
