The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority issued new rules effective Aug. 10 after British police found a plot to bomb commercial aircraft.
The rules will affect travellers at any Canadian airport,
including on domestic trips.
Carry-on luggage is allowed but it can't contain liquids or
gels, including:
 
-  all beverages, including  juice for
children. 
-  aerosols
-  shampoo 
-  suntan lotion
-  creams
-  toothpaste
-  hair gel
The exceptions:
n  baby formula
n  breast milk in bottles
n  juice for a baby or small child
n  prescription medicine with a name that matches the
passenger's ticket
n  insulin
n  essential non-prescrip tion medicine
Travellers are advised to put liquids and gels in checked
baggage.
If boarding a flight to the United States,  passengers
may be asked to take off shoes for screening.
Seniors or those needing help removing shoes will be assisted by security people.
