Young Canadian actress Sophie Nélisse, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Liesel Meminger in the film adaptation of the best-selling novel “The Book Thief,” is coming to Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival.

She'll be on hand after the Friday, Sept. 20 gala screening for an audience question and answer session.

Nélisse voiced Cinéfest's television ad this year.

In “The Rest of Us,” the 19-year-old plays Aster, the headstrong teenage daughter of a poised, divorced woman, Cami (Heather Graham).

Cami invites her ex-husband’s second wife, Rachel (Jodi Balfour), and young daughter, Talulah (Abigail Pniowsky) to move in with them following his unexpected death.

The film was shot in North Bay in June and July of 2018.

Sudbury.com recently did an interview with “The Rest of Us” director Aisling Chin-Yee, so watch out for that story in the days to come. Chin-Yee said she will not make it to Cinéfest herself.
