The Sudbury Youth Orchestra presents its annual holiday performance Dec. 10.

This year the concert features Vivaldi’s timeless masterpiece, "Gloria."

This vibrant and uplifting piece was composed while Vivaldi was employed as the head of music for the Pio Ospedale della Pietà, an orphanage for girls renowned for its choir, and the piece has remained one of the composer’s most popular works to this day.

Joining the SYO in performing this magnificent music will be the Cambrian College Choir.

Other works on the program include sacred music for the holidays by Daquin, Handel and Berlioz. The concert will also feature the Cambrian Chamber Choir, performing a variety of well-loved carols, both old and new.

The performance takes place at St. Andrew’s Place at 7 p.m. Dec. 10. General admission tickets are $15, $12 for seniors and students. Children 10 and under are free.

Tickets are available at the Cambrian College Campus Shop, Vrab's Independant Grocers and at the door.
