BY MATTHEW GILLIES To celebrate the grand opening of Cranky Joe's in Hanmer, owner Rob Ferrucci has arranged a weekend extravaganza. He has invited the original members of Canadian rock band Honeymoon Suite to perform.

Canadians make some of the best short films in the world, yet audiences rarely get to see them. Sometimes, they show up on a TVO or a Canadian speciality channel, but because most movie theatres do not run them.

The search is on for the best, or at least the most entertaining and creative, science teachers in Canada, said a news release. Science North will play host to the Iron Science Ontario Regional competitions on Nov. 3.

A special TVO series, called Ontario in the Global Bazaar, will look at where our province's economy is going and whether or not we're on the right track, said a news release. The show airs on Monday, September 3 at 8 pm.
