12 Days of Kindness: Doctors said he wouldn't live to see his third birthday, today he turns eight!

So watch as we help Josh Beyers’ whole family celebrate this incredible boy's 8th birthday: superhero style!

Today, we are going to meet a young boy who has beaten all odds. In fact, according to his doctors, he shouldn't even be alive.

Josh Beyers was born with spinal muscular atrophy, a genetic disease that progressively weakens young children's muscles, leading to problems walking, swallowing and breathing.

Doctors said Josh wouldn’t live to see his third birthday, but like his favourite superhero Spider-Man, this young man is brave and he continues to face every obstacle head-on.

Watch as we surprise this remarkable boy on his eighth birthday with an act of kindness for the entire family.

Thank you to our partners in kindness, All About Massage and DIY Craftery & Lounge for helping us surprise the family.

Be sure to join us on Sudbury.com tomorrow as we wrap-up this year’s 12 Day of Kindness.
