12 Days of Kindness: Kettle campaign volunteer gets an early birthday present

Acts of kindness continues with a warm and comfy surprise for Peter Schmut

The Salvation Army's Christmas Kettle campaign serves many people over the Christmas season.

Christmas Kettles is the major fundraiser for The Salvation Army’s Community & Family Services, which runs a food bank, summer camp, Christmas hampers, as well as other programming.

Of course, those services wouldn't be possible without the dedicated volunteers who generously give their time and energy to help make our community a better place.

Peter Schmut has been standing kettles for eight seasons.

Watch as we ambush him with an early birthday present to say thank you.

Thank you to Ramakko's Source for Adventure for helping us surprise this long-time volunteer.

Don't forget to join us on Sudbury.com tomorrow morning for another day of the 12 Days of Kindness.
