12 Days of Kindness: The Five help a big brother bring a tear to his ailing sister's eyes

An emotional act of kindness lifts spirits at the Roberts home as teen awaits scoliosis surgery

Welcome to day two of Sudbury.com's 12 Days of Kindness, supported by @homeENERGY

Cassandra Roberts is passionate about basketball. Despite having scoliosis, the 14-year-old continues to play for the girl's basketball team at École secondaire catholique l'Horizon. While it can be painful, Cassandra's love for the sport is what pushes her through.

Cassandra will be having surgery at Sick Kids in Toronto on Dec. 12 which has put a lot of stress on her parents and older siblings.

When Cassandra's brother Justin reached out to Sudbury.com to help lift the family's spirits, we knew just the group of guys who could give Cassandra and her family the encouragement they needed.

Watch as the Sudbury Five basketball team gave the Roberts family an experience they will never forget in this emotional act of kindness.
