58 volunteers to be honoured

Fifty-eight volunteers from Sudbury and surrounding communities will be honoured with Ontario Volunteer Service Awards from the Ministry of Citizenship Oct. 21.
Fifty-eight volunteers from Sudbury and surrounding communities will be honoured with Ontario Volunteer Service Awards from the Ministry of Citizenship Oct. 21. Volunteer Service Awards are an annual opportunity for the Ontario government to thank volunteers. All award winners receive a stylized Trillium pin and a personalized certificate.

In the Sudbury area, three local residents will be honoured for 50-plus years of community service, and will also receive a Queen?s Golden Jubilee Medal in recognition of more than five decades of service to a community organization.

Two Outstanding Achievement Awards (OAA) for Voluntarism, that recognize exceptional community service, will be presented during the ceremony.

The ceremony will take place at the Cavern at Science North at 7:30 pm.
