A fun-filled day for pups and their owners: Woof Fest returns Sept. 21

Help Magical Paws Pet Therapy bring puppy love to individuals across Greater Sudbury

Bring your fluffy-footed friend to Magical Paws Pet Therapy's annual Woof Fest at the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre Sept. 21, to enjoy a fun-filled day designed for pups and their owners.

This free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include a variety of vendors and exhibitors, silent auction, penny table, games, and contests such as Musical Mats, Bobbing for Wieners and Best Dressed Canine.

There will also be a Fun Zone with a fenced-in area for dogs to play off-leash and participate in simple agility games, as well as activities for children and adults.

Walden Animal Hospital will be on-site, providing a discounted microchip clinic for dogs for the price of $25. Walk-ins are welcomed or you can pre-register by emailing [email protected].

Magical Paws Pet Therapy is a local non-profit organization which uses dogs to bring comfort, affection, laughter and joy to individuals at nursing homes, retirement homes, group homes, schools and workplaces.

Previous locations include Maison McCulloch Hospice, Genevra House, Laurentian University, Cambrian College and College Boreal, according to a press release.

Magical Paws Pet Therapy is comprised of around 55 volunteers and their dogs, who last year, donated over 7,000 hours of their time to this community initiative.

Woof Fest was introduced to not only to act as a major annual fundraiser for the non-profit but give Sudbury a much needed "festival for dogs," said the release.
