The number of active cases of COVID-19 at local JK-12 schools has now jumped to 18.

At Bishop Alexander Carter Catholic Secondary School, where an outbreak has been declared, there are now five cases of the virus reported by Sudbury Catholic District School Board. That’s up from the two cases reported a day ago.

Ten classes are reported “closed” at Bishop Alexander Carter.

An additional case at St. Charles College, where an outbreak has also been declared, brings the number of COVID-19 cases at that school up to four. That’s an increase of one case at that school since our last update yesterday.

Three classes are reported “closed” at St. Charles College.

Sudbury Catholic District School Board also reports a new single case of COVID-19 at St. Anne Catholic Elementary School.

Rainbow District School Board reports a new case of COVID-19 at Adamsdale Public School. The school remains open for in-person learning.

Students in the Grade 4 class in Room 8 have been asked to self-isolate until Sept. 26. Direction for staff is based on immunization status.

There are also cases of COVID-19 that have been reported at Lasalle Secondary School (1), R.L. Beattie Public School (4), École catholique La Renaissance in Espanola (1) and École Ste-Marie (1).

Sudbury Student Services Consortium has not reported any new school bus cancellations related to COVID-19 this morning. However, there are 12 existing bus cancellations. The full list is available on the consortium’s website.
