Acts of Kindness: He beat cancer, we surprise him with an amazing getaway

Despite having to fight cancer four times, André Lafleche never gave up hope

After fighting and beating cancer three times, André Lafleche was told the cancer had returned a fourth time. He was just 30 years old.

Only this time, the cancer had spread and doctors said there was nothing they could do. He was terminal.

Despite receiving a terminal diagnosis, Lafleche never gave up hope.

He decided to take part in a clinical trial, continued to work through his treatments and coached kids hockey to keep life as normal as possible for his partner, Melissa, her three kids and their new baby.

That was four years ago.

Lafleche not only beat the cancer, but while taking part in the clinical treatments, the couple miraculously got pregnant and Melissa gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

Watch as Sudbury.com surprised Lafleche with a well-deserved adults-only getaway.
