A North Bay man, already facing sexual assault charges, now faces another 40 charges according to police.

Today, North Bay Police charged James Larry Boucher with an additional 40 charges relating to sexual violence and drug related matters. The initial investigation started after a man and a victim met at a local licensed establishment. Police say the sexual assault occurred a short time after they left the establishment.

City police took the unusual step after the initial charges of releasing the photo of Boucher, hoping more victims would come forward with information. That has proved to be a successful strategy as the media release on the charges brought more victims forward.

A total of 14 victims have been identified which resulted in the latest additional charges.

James Larry Boucher, aged 20, of North Bay is charged with:

  • 16 counts sexual assault
  • 11 counts sexual interference
  • 3 counts choking
  • 4 counts luring a child under the age of 18
  • 8 counts trafficking a controlled substance
  • 1 count forcible confinement
  • 1 count assault
  • 1 count assault with a weapon
  • 5 counts breach of probation.

Boucher is currently in custody and is awaiting a bail hearing.
