Residents of Greater Sudbury may be surprised to see an African cat prowling the nights.

A Serval cat got out of its cage on Friday and escaped from a residence in Hanmer.

The nocturnal cat resembles a small cheetah with a shorter tail, large spots and pointed ears.

The owner of the cat, Diane Korpela, said that the cat is not dangerous and is offering an undetermined cash reward for its return.

Anyone with information is asked to phone Korpela at home, 969-0281, or at the Pine Ridge Ranch, 969-1127.
