A celebration of life for All Nations pastor Jeremy Mahood is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at the church on St. Raphael Street.

Because a large turnout is expected, the church will be livestreaming the event at AllNationsChurch.ca.

A visitation also takes place Friday, June 7 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., also at All Nations Church.

Mahood, 69, passed away suddenly Tuesday morning.

Pastor John Felsman of All Nations Church said in a Facebook post his “heart is broken,” as he's lost one of his closest friends, as well as mentor and boss.

“In spite of our loss in the physical, Heaven has gained one of her great ambassadors!” Felsman wrote.

“Our loving God has excellent things in store for the future! I'm also comforted in knowing that I'll see my dear friend again some day as will all of us who accept Christ Jesus as Lord in our lives! Be Blessed and comforted today!”

A statement from All Nations Church called Mahood a “visionary leader.”

“He was instrumental in helping build the mission outpost, encouraging the next generation to follow Christ and live it out in their lives every day,” the statement said.

“Jeremy loved and accepted all people, regardless of where they were in their walk with God. He was always up for a challenge, whether in discussion on Facebook or in his life.

“Jeremy had a passion for life and the community. He spent his life doing what he loved doing, preaching, teaching, and encouraging others in many ways.

“Jeremy accepted others unconditionally and was a role model for those around him to do the same. He led others with integrity and transparency and we already miss him.”

He was born in Belfast in 1949 and he and his wife, Eileen, have been married since 1975. Mahood received his BA from Dominican College in New York, and his MA in Bible counselling from Luther Rice Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia.

He has been pastor at All Nations since 1978 and was ordained by the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec in 1981.

He is chaplain to the Sudbury Wolves, and was chaplain to Greater Sudbury Police for three decades.

Mahood is the author of books including “The Character of Christ in You” and “The Relationship Depot.”
