Every year for the past decade, the Freedom Riders Motorcycle Association has dedicated its time towards raising funds for worthy causes.

The 10th Annual Freedom Rally takes place from August 1-4, at the Mine Mill Campground on Richard Lake, off Highway 69 N.

The Freedom Riders are a local group of motorcycle enthusiasts that have been helping local childrenÂ?s charities and organizations.

Proceeds from the annual motorcycle rally allow the motorcycle group to donate thousands of dollars to help children within our own community. To date funds used include over $4,000 worth of teddy bears to the Â?Bears in the AirÂ? program; $9,000 to the Telemedia ChildrenÂ?s Trust Fund; $2,000 to the Starlight Wish Foundation; as well as money being put towards the annual LionÂ?s Christmas Telethon, and National Special Olympics.

The annual rally attracts people from across the province and from other communities like Quebec, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and North Carolina.

The cost for the rally weekend is $45 per person for adults, $30 for children 8-15 years of age, and those under 8 are admitted free.

The price includes four days of camping, nightly entertainment, a dance Saturday night, continental breakfast each morning, hotdogs on the deck each night, catered supper on Sunday, entry into the motorcycle games and field events, and chances to win prizes and awards.

As well, the public is invited to come out and watch the bike games on Sunday starting at noon at no charge.
