Sudbury resident Debra Wilcocks of Sudbury said yes to ENCORE (April 15, 2017 LOTTO 6/49) and won $100,000.
Debra matched six of the seven winning numbers on her ENCORE selection.
“I always add an ENCORE play to my lottery purchase,” said Wilcocks while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where she picked up her winnings. “I bought my winning ticket on the day of the draw.”
Debra admits that her ticket purchases usually pile up before she checks them.
“This time, I only waited a couple of days and then used the ticket checker at the store – fully expecting a Free Play or small win at most. I scanned the ticket and then stared at the screen. Next, I started screaming, ‘What?’ I couldn’t believe what I was seeing - ‘Big Winner - $100,000!’”
When Debra handed the ticket to the retailer she was asked, “Do you have a Big Winner?” Debra responded, “That’s what the ticket checker says.”
Debra’s win was confirmed and OLG called the store to confirm her win.
“This win means everything to me. It means I can help my wonderful daughter and beautiful grandson. My daughter will get a car, a money gift and of course, we will go shopping for my five year old grandson. The biggest treat would be a toy shopping spree with his ‘Grandma.’ As for me, I will be getting a red SUV. Winning the lottery has my head in the clouds. It is still unbelievable. It’s been impossible to sleep these last few days,” said Debra.
ENCORE can be played in conjunction with most online lottery games for an extra $1. There is an ENCORE draw every day.
The winning ticket was purchased at Val Caron Kwik Way on Highway 69 in Val Caron.
