A protest rally will be staged outside the Provincial Building on Larch and Paris St. Monday, opposing the Ontario government's recent slashing of the Special Dietary Supplement program for people on Ontario Works and the Ontario Disability Support Program.

The rally is being organized by the Hunger Clinic Organization Committee in partnership with Ontario Common Front and other anti-poverty groups. Protesters will also use the rally as a way of calling for a raise in social assistance rates.

The rally will feature a number of speakers, including Ward 2 Councillor Claude Berthiaume and Brenda LaFrancois, professor of social work at Laurentian University. The rally is at noon on Nov. 14.
