Artist visits Collège Boréal

Collège Boréal, in partnership with the National Film Board, will be hosting a presentation by the visual artist Jean Détheux on Wednesday, Jan.

Collège Boréal, in partnership with the National Film Board, will be hosting a presentation by the visual artist Jean Détheux on Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 1 to 4 pm in the Jean-Watters amphitheatre, Collège Boréal

Born in Belgium, Détheux has taught in several art schools in Canada and the United States for more than 13 years. He quit teaching to focus on painting for 12 years.

In 1996, he set aside his paintbrushes and adopted digital techniques, and eventually decided to create animation films. He created two short animation
films with the NFB: Liaisons and Ruptures. Both will be presented during the conference.

Jean Détheux?s presentation is intended for learners in the Classical Animation program at Collège Boréal and the artistic community of Sudbury. It deals with digital animation, the influence of music and the necessity of improvisation and constructive accidents in creation.

The presentation will be given in French.
