Artists on Elgin celebrates Canada 150 with a launch of 150 postcards of Sudbury.

More than 800 images were submitted by local photographers of all ages and experience to the Capture Sudbury photo contest depicting favourite aspects of the city: historical locations, buildings, people, nightlife, activities, contemporary issues, nature, and what the public loves about Sudbury.

One hundred fifty images were selected and some community groups and local businesses sponsored favourite images to be printed as postcards for Canada Day.

The postcards will be on display from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 1 at the farmers' market downtown.

Then they'll be available for purchase after Canada Day at Artists on Elgin as a fundraiser to support local artists.

For more information on the Capture Sudbury photography launch, visit Artists on Elgin's website or stop by the shop at 168 Elgin St.
