Atlas Copco invests in Sudbury

Atlas Copco Construction & Mining Canada, located in Lively, has developed a long-term partnership with Dynamic Earth.

The construction and mining equipment company will be investing $50,000 in each of the next three years into Phase II construction of Dynamic Earth, for
a total capital investment of $150,000.

Phase II will include the new Atlas Copco Theatre, a multipurpose room, exhibit changes, landscaping and an expanded lobby. Dynamic Earth Phase II is scheduled to open in the spring of 2007.

In addition, Atlas Copco announced further funding of $20,000 per year over 13 years starting in 2009, for a total long-term sponsorship investment of $260,000.

At a reception to announce the partnership, the new president of the mining division, Paul Healy, was introduced. A former vice-president, he is responsible for Canadian sales and product support, plus an extensive network of service and parts centres across the country that serve the construction and mining industry. He replaces Dirk ?Dick? Plate, who will be based in Montreal at the Atlas Copco Canadian headquarters. He has been appointed vice-president, Global Key Accounts, responsible for worldwide business development.
