Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the city and the area. A developing weather system is currently forecast to bring anywhere from 40 to 60 millimetres of rain, starting later this evening. Thunderstorms are also a possibility.
Heavy precipitation is expected to taper off by tomorrow night, but showers are expected to persist through the day Wednesday and Thursday.
If the expected heavy rainfall does materialize, waterways and major drainage ditches will rise quickly. The NDCA advises people to avoid any fast-flowing water, particularly children.
If you experience problems from localized flooding or overland runoff, the NDCA advises residents to phone the city at 311.
