Ticket and cash fares for Greater Sudbury Transit
increased five cents, effective New Year?s Day.
Monthly passes increased by $1.
?Public transit continues to be a
convenient and affordable transportation alternative for citizens
of Greater Sudbury, particularly for those who live in outlying
communities,? said manager of transit operations Roger
Sauvé
?Residents of Valley East, Lively,
Chelmsford
and elsewhere pay much less for better service
since the expansion of Greater Sudbury Transit.?
Ticket fares will rise to $1.70 for adults, $1.20
for children and $1.20 for seniors (with a senior gold photo ID)
and disability pensioners (with an annual pass). Tickets can be
purchased in strips of five or 10.
Cash fares will increase to $2.10 for adults and
students, $1.60 for children and $1.60 for seniors (with a senior
gold photo ID) and disability pensioners (with an annual
pass).
Monthly passes will go up to $65 for adults, $62
for students and $40 for seniors and disability pensioners.
Fees for photo identification cards remain
unchanged. To qualify for discount fares, seniors must purchase a
golden photo identification card for a one-time fee of $5 and
citizens receiving a disability pension must purchase an annual
pass at a cost of $20.
