The latest update on the situation at the police station in Sault Ste. Marie is that the all-clear has been given.
Just after 10 a.m., the police service warned the public to stay away from the station after a citizen dropped off what was suspected to be an "unexploded device," in police parlance.
An officer in a bomb suit was sent into the remove the package.
Police say the device has now been removed and stored, and the police station has been re-opened. Police are still investigating whether the item is indeed an explosive. Police say more information will be released when it is available.
