In recognition of the 2012 National Down Syndrome Awareness Week, Nov. 1-7, the Down Syndrome Association of Sudbury is gearing up for its sixth annual Buddy Walk.
The Buddy Walk is a great time for bringing families and friends of Greater Sudbury together to raise awareness for the acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome, said the Association in a news release.
For those participating, there will be food, games, a bouce-a-bout, face painting and door prizes. Special guests this year will be the 2912 Royal Canadian (Irish) Army Cadets.
The walk takes place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., starting a Lockerby Composite School on Ramsey View Court.
