In response to market demand, Cambrian College is offering five new programs starting in September of 2020.

The new programs include Massage Therapy, Addictions and Mental Health, Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant, Computer Programming (Internet of Things) and Supply Chain Management.

“Our community told us there was a need for these programs, and we responded,” says Paula Gouveia, Cambrian College’s vice-president, academic. “Our students have also told us that these are programs of interest for them, and what they would like to study.”

Massage Therapy, Occupational and Physiotherapist Assistant and Computer Programming (Internet of Things) are being offered as diploma programs.

Addictions and Mental Health and Supply Chain Management are graduate certificates that can be completed in two to three semesters and are designed for students who have already graduated from college or university.

Since 2018, Cambrian has introduced 14 new programs, half of which are graduate certificates.

“They allow people with prior post-secondary experience to come back to college,” said Paula Gouveia. “We’ll combine the theory-focused education they received before with practical hands-on experience, with a placement in industry that they can use to transform into careers.”

Applications for the new programs are now open. For more information, visit Cambriancollege.ca/ programs.

Cambrian also invites the community to its Fall Open House, Saturday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn more about Cambrian’s more than 80 programs and Student services.
