Cambrian College set to honour graduates

Cambrian College will honour more than 2,200 graduates at four Convocation ceremonies this Thursday and Friday at the Barrydowne campus. The ceremonies begin at 10 am and 2 pm. This is the 36th annual Convocation ceremonies.

Cambrian will also honour both Domtar Inc. and Cambrian College Alumnus Curtis Belcher.

Domtar will receive the prestigious Dr. Fred Sheridan Award at the 10 am ceremony on Thursday.

Michel Deshaies, Domtar mill manager in Espanola will accept the award. Belcher, founder and owner of CJTK Radio in Sudbury will receive the Cambrian College Alumni Award on behalf of Domtar Inc at the 2 pm ceremony on Thursday.

Deshaies and Belcher will also deliver the Convocation Address at their respective ceremonies.

Also speaking at the ceremonies will be : Jim Thompson, Chair, Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce at 10 am on Friday, and Wayne Hartley, Cambrian Alumnis and Owner of Wayne Hartley Training Corporation at 2 pm on Friday.

There will also be six additional awards and medals handed out.
