Cambrian College is offering a free pre-apprenticeship welding program for women.

The program begins in September at Cambrian’s main campus in Sudbury. Students will receive 10 weeks of in-school training plus an eight-week placement, starting in January of 2020.

The program is open to women who are 16 years of age or older, live in and are able to work in Ontario, are proficient in the English language, and have their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or high school equivalency General Educational Development (GED) certificate.

For applicants who do not have their OSSD or GED, summer courses are available in math, English, computers and self-management in order to be considered.

To apply to this program, applicants must attend an information session, either May 1 or May 8, 6-8 p.m. at Cambrian’s Barrydowne campus (parking is free).

Those attending the information session may be asked to attend a math and English skills assessment session to qualify for this opportunity.

Contact Jessica Ravenscroft today to reserve your spot in an information session by phoning 705-566-8101, ext. 6421, or by emailing [email protected].

This training program is funded by the Government of Ontario.
