Cambrian receives $78K from donors on Giving Tuesday

‘These donations will truly make a world of difference’

People were in a very giving mood recently when it came to Cambrian College. The college announced that $78,705 was raised for students during Giving Tuesday.

“This year, we really harnessed the generosity of the entire Cambrian community, including faculty, staff, alumni and our industry partners to support our students,” said Brandi Braithwaite, Cambrian’s Director of Development and Alumni, in a press release.

“These donations will truly make a world of difference and bring about real change in the lives of our students. Giving Tuesday is always a special day here on campus.”

People donating to Cambrian College during Giving Tuesday had numerous options to choose from, such as program-specific bursaries, hardship bursaries, mental health supports and the student food bank.

Cambrian College thanked all its donors for their support during Giving Tuesday, in particular this year’s supporters who provided matching donations:

  • Crosstown Chevrolet Buick GMC – Business program bursaries
  • Lopes Ltd. – Engineering program bursaries
  • Milman Industries Inc. – Area of greatest need
  • TESC Integrated Construction Services – Women in skilled trades and
  • students enrolled in the Workplace Safety and Prevention program
  • Mr. Nero Contracting & Restoration Inc. – Cambrian Student Foodbank
  • Cambrian Student Council – Adopt a Student/Family for the holidays
  • Spectrum Group – Entrance Bursary Fund
  • Mario Grossi – Emergency Bursary Fund
  • Palladino Auto Group – Motive Power Technician program scholarships
  • Pioneer Construction and Fisher Wavy – Mental health supports
