Cambrian College has reported a positive case of COVID-19 involving a member of the college community.

The case was reported both in a written statement from Cambrian president Bill Best posted on the college’s website, as well as on Cambrian’s new COVID-19 dashboard landing page.

“As I mentioned to you in an update in January, we are changing the way we report positive cases of COVID-19,” Best said. “We will only report cases to you when the person has been on campus within 14 days of their diagnosis or the onset of symptoms.”

Best said it’s a good time to remind people that if they begin to display even one symptom of COVID, isolate, do a self-assessment of your health and consider getting tested for COVID. Do not come to campus until you are symptom-free for at least 24 hours.

“Remember, Greater Sudbury is now a Red Zone in terms of COVID-19, so there is a heightened sense of urgency to follow all COVID-19 protocols, out in the community, and on campus,” he said.
