If your little kid, or kid at heart, loves big trucks and Paw Patrol, then the place to be was the 8th annual Big Truck Showcase on Saturday, May 17, in Capreol, hosted by the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre.

Though the wind whipped passed and the clouds threatened, dozens of families turned out to see and tour fire engines, a GOVA and a school bus, and a cement truck, among others.
For Rémi Rainville, 2, it wasn’t just about checking out the world from the driver’s seat of a bus, it was about laying on the horn as loud as he could, for as long as he could.

The air was filled with the smell of barbecue set against a background of laughing children, and a short walk away, at the Capreol Heritage Centre, the celebrities themselves, the characters from Paw Patrol. In fact, there was a substantial lineup to see them much of the day.

Kids could even learn from Cambrian College’s street education team, featuring an ambulance from their paramedic program, and ‘Frank’ a CPR doll.
